TASK 3: Contact organisations



I have contacted with two organizations for Design Project A: Postal stamps design for Biodiversity. First organization is  Natural England, other is NBN National Biodiversity Network. I am awaiting their reply and more information about Biodiversity. 
I have done a lot of research for biodiversity and stamps designs. I found out that there are many other organizations working on the global issue of Biodiversity. Some of the  organizations are Convention on Biological Diversity in Canada, they are explaning for goals and sub-targets of Biodiversity in details. UNEP; United Nations Environment Programme and WWF tackling on the climate change.

I have also contacted with Royal mail stamps programme department.They have replied me by email with many useful information by text documents about the stamps and the stamps subject selection, the criteria to produce the stamps and the printing methods of the stamps.
They are explaining about the stamp design process;
1.Choosing stamp subject: Each year Royal Mail issues about eight sets of special stamps.They do shortlist of hundred of ideas selects about ten subejcts.
2. Design research commisioning: After the shortlist of stamps themes have been agreed detailed design research of each subject starts.
3. Design consultative process: A designer is commissioned. The designer discuss outline ideas and research progress with the design departement.
4.The requirements of stamp design.
5. Stamp approval and Royal aprroval.
6. Stamp printing.
7.The first day of issue arrives.

Royal mail sent me an information pack by post ,there are a lot of informations  about the stamps, they have sent me British Philatelic the bulletin which includes classic album covers, British air letters, the history of air letters and eminent Britons.they have also sent me the booklet of the collections of stamps autumn/winter 2009. Contents: Classic album covers, Christmas 2009, the series; olympic and Paralympic games, Commemorate 2009 their annual range, Darwin, Action for species ,British design classics, Christmas 2008, Robert Burns stamps information and enhance your collection, albums, essential accessories.

I have contacted other organisation UK BAP sent me their library pdf information with the link which is at below.
I have reply from NBN; they sent me the information for biodiversity, talking about a topic of non-natives plants and animals and example of Harlequin Ladybird widespread insect with the link at below. They have also sent me other useful organisation web sites. Some of them are;
